Arriving as overwhelming favorites, having dominated La Liga, Los Blancos faced a surprisingly resilient Borussia Dortmund side, who defied expectations to reach the final. The Yellow Wall of Dortmund supporters created a vibrant atmosphere, but ultimately, Real Madrid’s experience and clinical finishing proved decisive.
The first half was scoreless. Borussia Dortmund had some good chances to score but Real Madrid’s goalkeeper, Courtois, made some excellent saves. The second half started with more of the same, but Real Madrid eventually took the lead in the 70th minute through a header from Dani Carvajal. Borussia Dortmund pushed for an equalizer but Real Madrid scored again in the 80th minute through Vinicius Jr. to secure the win.
