Our girls came back swinging after ‘Supernova‘ (which btw, still lives rent-free in my head), and they’re serving LOOKS, VOCALS, and EVERYTHING in between!

First things first, can we please talk about Miss Karina?! Like, hello?! The way she’s absolutely dominating 2024 is insane! Fresh off her solo debut ‘Up‘ breaking records left and right (Queen behavior only!), she’s back with the girls showing everyone why she’s THAT girl. The duality of going from her soft, dreamy solo vibes to this fierce techno queen in ‘Whiplash‘ is giving versatility goddess!

The MV is literally everything! It’s giving futuristic fashion magazine, it’s giving high-end runway, it’s giving rich auntie who buys designer just for grocery shopping! 💅
The minimalist sets actually work so well with their high-fashion looks (whoever styled them deserves a raise fr fr). And that camera work?
Someone was definitely getting creative with the angles because HONEY, they ATE!
This mini-album is such a serve too! We’ve got six tracks that showcase different sides of aespa, from the EDM banger ‘Kill It‘ (which, btw, needs to be their next title track periodt), to the R&B moment ‘Flights, Not Feelings‘ (perfect for your crying-in-your-room playlist). ‘Pink Hoodie‘ is literally my new self-love anthem, and don’t even get me started on ‘Just Another Girl‘ – the pop-rock breakup song I didn’t know I needed!
But let’s circle back to ‘Whiplash‘ because WHEW! The choreography is sleeker than my attempt to sneak back home after a midnight Tealive run! While some might say it’s less intense than ‘Supernova‘, I think it’s giving sophisticated queens who know they don’t need to do the most to slay. Also, Karina’s center parts? ICONIC. The way she delivers her lines with that signature swag? I’m deceased. 💀
